Palio di Buti Pisa, Tuscany, Italy

Palio di Buti
Tuscany’s first palio of the year it has its origins in the religious festival that takes place on January 17th in honour of Saint Antony Abbot.
A traditional dating from the early 19 century when all pets in Buti wold receive a blessing from the priest.
After the meal, they competed in the horse race galloping around the village to prove that their animals was the fastest.
The race take place in the afternoon along the 750m track.
